The dormakaba BTS 84 is a shallow-profile floor spring specifically developed for aluminium commercial doors and toughened glass door systems. Its reduced body depth makes it the correct choice where standard floor springs cannot be accommodated — particularly in aluminium shopfront construction and frameless glass door installations where floor depth is severely limited.
Available in EN2, EN3, and EN4 fixed power sizes in both non-hold-open and 90° hold-open configurations. Third-party tested to BS EN 1154 and CE marked, making it suitable for fire-rated door assemblies. A wide range of BTS 84-specific accessories — including cover plates, top centres, and spindles — are available to complete the installation.

BTS 84 vs BTS 75 V / BTS 80 — Which Do I Need?
BTS 75 V — variable power, larger body, the standard choice for most commercial installations where floor depth allows.
BTS 80 — fixed power, compact body, suitable for thin slab construction.
BTS 84 — the shallowest body of the three, specifically designed for aluminium shopfront and toughened glass door applications where the BTS 75 V and BTS 80 cannot physically fit.
