Panic Hardware

Panic hardware — also known as emergency exit hardware — allows doors to be opened from the inside by pushing a crossbar or touch pad, without requiring the user to operate a conventional handle or lock. It is a legal requirement on certain emergency exit doors in commercial and public buildings under BS EN 1125 (panic) and BS EN 179 (emergency exit).
