940 Concealed Panic Latch Exit Device 28mm Backset

The Adams Rite 940 series is a concealed mortice panic latch for narrow-stile aluminium commercial doors with a 28.6mm backset. It combines a concealed vertical rod panic exit mechanism with a mortice latch body, providing two-point locking at both the top and bottom of the door — activated by a single push of the outside handle or panic touchbar from inside.

The 940 is the standard specification for aluminium entrance doors where a conventional surface-mounted panic bar is not appropriate. The concealed design keeps the door face completely clean. Certified to BS EN 1125, making it suitable for escape route doors accessible to the general public.

Selecting the Right Width

The 940 series is manufactured to suit the specific door width — measure the clear opening width of the door leaf and select the variant whose range includes your measurement:

• 435 to 600mm wide
• 602 to 750mm wide
• 705 to 900mm wide
• 705 to 1050mm wide
• 905 to 1200mm wide

If your door width falls at the boundary between two ranges, select the larger range. If you are unsure, contact us with the door dimensions before ordering — the 940 series is made to order and cannot be returned once manufactured.
