Axim Free Swing Transom Closer

The Axim free swing transom closer is an unsprung dummy unit for use on the non-active leaf of double-door sets, or on any door where pivot action is required without closing force. The free swing unit fits the same door preparation as the TC-8800 and TC-9900 transom closers, providing the upper pivot point without the spring mechanism — allowing the door to swing freely in both directions without any closing action.

The most common application is on the inactive leaf of a double-door set where a transom closer is fitted to the active leaf — the free swing unit on the inactive leaf provides a matched appearance and the correct pivot action without adding an unnecessary closing force. It is also used in automatic door systems where a separate low-energy operator provides the closing action and no mechanical closer is required.
