Groom GRL050 Transom Closer - Hold Open

The Groom GRL050 Hold Open is a concealed transom closer with mechanical hold-open function for commercial aluminium and timber doors up to 1100mm wide and 110kg in weight. The closer mechanism is housed entirely within the door's top rail, leaving no visible hardware on the door face. The hold-open function allows the door to be pushed to a set position and held open there — releasing automatically when pushed further or pulled closed.

Independently tested to BS EN 1154, the GRL050 Hold Open is suitable for general commercial applications. Three power sizes (EN2, EN3, EN4) cover the full range of standard commercial door sizes, with both closing speed and latching speed independently adjustable on site.

Important — Hold Open and Fire Doors

Mechanical hold-open closers must not be used on fire-rated doors. Fire doors must always be fitted with a non-hold-open closer, or — where hold-open is genuinely required — an electromagnetic hold-open device connected to the fire alarm system.
