The Groom GRL050 Hold Open is a concealed transom closer with mechanical hold-open function for commercial aluminium and timber doors up to 1100mm wide and 110kg in weight. The closer mechanism is housed entirely within the door's top rail, leaving no visible hardware on the door face. The hold-open function allows the door to be pushed to a set position and held open there — releasing automatically when pushed further or pulled closed.

Independently tested to BS EN 1154. Three power sizes (EN2, EN3, EN4) cover the full range of standard commercial door sizes, with both closing speed and latching speed independently adjustable on site.

Selecting the Right Power Size and Spindle

Choose the power size based on door width. EN3 is the most common specification for standard commercial doors. Extended spindle variants (5mm and 8mm) are available where the door profile requires additional spindle length. If unsure, measure from the top of the spindle seat to the surface of the top rail.
