The Lorient LAS9070 is a medium-duty concertina finger guard for the hinge side of hinged doors, designed to prevent finger-trap injuries in the gap between the door and the frame as the door closes. When the door opens, the concertina rubber seal extends to cover the hinge gap; when the door closes, it retracts into the aluminium housing. Concealed fixings give a clean, finished appearance.
At 2100 x 70mm (106mm wide including the frame section), the LAS9070 is sized for standard commercial door heights and can be cut to length on site if required. The flexible concertina rubber element is available in Brown, Black, and Cream — all with a silver aluminium frame — allowing a close colour match to most door and frame finishes.

Where Finger Guards Are Required
Finger guards on the hinge side of doors are specified wherever there is a foreseeable risk of finger-trap injury — particularly in schools, nurseries, care homes, hospitals, and public buildings where children or vulnerable persons are present. UK building regulations and DfE guidance on school buildings both reference the need for finger protection on hinged doors in these environments.
